If you're looking for an adorable, unique plant, look no further than the String of Turtles (Peperomia prostrata). One look at the round leaves, and you'll see where it gets its name from. Small, round green leaves trail down its vines, and on each leaf you'll find a unique pattern that looks like a turtle shell.
Since the String of Turtles is part of the Peperomia family, they are pet friendly! They can be a bit finicky as most String of Things are, but once you know what it needs, it will thrive. These guys don't like to be watered very often, but they also don't want to stay dry for too long. Once you notice the soil is completely dry, wait another week or so to water it unless you notice the leaves turning a dull yellow color or shriveling up, then water it right away. They do best in bright light and can even tolerate some direct sunlight.
Care Tips:
- Water about a week or so after the soil fully dries out. Keep it in a pot with good drainage too to avoid root rot.
- Light - bright indirect or direct light is the best option.
- Repot once you notice roots coiling around or coming out of the bottom of the planter and/or it starts needing water more often. When you choose a new pot for it, only go up 1-2" in pot size at a time to encourage healthy foliage growth.
*Pet friendly! Not toxic if ingested.*
*Plant you receive will be similar to photos*
